Apple Will Close Some Stores Again as COVID-19 Cases Reappear
Stocks rolled over to trade lower on Friday after Apple said it would reclose some stores in certain states given their recent spikes in coronavirus cases. In Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Arizona, a total of 11 Apple stores are to close.
Customers with items to be fixed in those stores will have the weekend to get their devices back, Apple said. In reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, Apple previously closed its stores around the world in March.
However, in recent weeks, they have begun to re-open with safety measures such as mandatory masking, curbside pickup in some areas, and service by appointment. Apple said earlier this week that it planned to re-open stores in New York City and that it was aiming for more than 200 U.S. stores to be open by the end of the week. see the full list of stores that Apple is closing,
